Geico or Progressive Car Insurance?

Which company is better?

  1. My quotes were fairly high from each of them. Both will eat you alive with hidden fees. I got my best deal & most coverage for the money from esurance.com.
  2. Progressive is very good. However, my son had Progressive and just switched over to Allstate for a much better rate.
  3. Go to www.progressive.com and get a quote. Then click on the button for "get quotes from other companies". Usually Geico will be cheaper. I had Progressive for awhile. They are great with customer service (you actually get to talk to a person) and usually have good prices. I have also had Geico and loved them even more. You can do everything on-line and you can just e-mail them if you wanna cancel. Usually Geico is the cheapest you can get .. but the quality is still good. EDIT: to comment on the other comments .. I have checked out both esurance and Allstate and they are way more expensive, especially esurance. They wanted to charge me like 6 times more than Geico!
  4. They are both A& companies so neither one is better than the other.
  5. You might try AIG they saved us over $350 from Esurance.
  6. ive had both, i preffer progressive because i have a great local agent... so great i would buy whatever he offers me... thats how i decide.
  7. Go to an independent agent with lots of companies. GEICO is usually competitive with liability dropped to state minimums but can usually be beaten. Progressive is good if you have no prior, or have bad stuff on your record between 3 and 5 years old. If you price with GEICO, make sure they run your record -- they have been known to quote you assuming a clean record then jack up the price later if they find anything on your record. If you tell GEICO you want their best price, they will often drop the liability (your protection limit if you get sued) to state minimums (like asking for the cheapest cut of meat or the cheapest mattress). Everyone's different based on your personal details -- no company has consistently lower prices. Get quotes from both companies if you like; being informed is a good thing.
