Car insurance?
Does anyone know of a website where you can find out how your occupation affects your car insurance quote? im a postman and i was just wanting to know what "grade" i was in? cheers

- Each insurer has their own list of occupations it will regard as high risk. I have worked in the business for 15 years and never seen a postie categorised as anything but "normal". There is no list as such except like below: Itinerant traders, fairground workers, mobile DJs, television presenters etc - Refer to underwriting All other occupations - no additional risk That sort of thing. xxFJ
- These days most occupation rating factors are built into computer systems however in the past the following was a guide:- Lowest rated: civil servants, local government, postmen (good for you!) and other professionals. Then normal occupations. Building and allied trades are rated higher The we head towards occupations regarded as hazardous either due to potential large claims e.g. footballer, professional sportmen, people who could be driving the car long distances - actors for instance, then people of no fixed abode - itinerant workers e.g. and people whose trades were regarded as poor moral hazards - gaming, night clubs and interestingly gown, mantle and fur trade.
