- If you already have some cars in mind, you should contact your insurance agent and run them by him/her and see what they say. Sports cars, luxury cars and suvs will be more expensive obviously. Things like air bags, 4-doors, abs, etc. will decrease rates.
- http://www.divorcekit.com/Cars/Top_5_Factors_Determining_Your_Car_Insurance_Rate.html Have a read there. Remember, Mustang, bad. Convertible Mustang, worse. Cheapest rates = be added to dad's policy.
- a four cylinder car that has theft system airbags and a good crash test rating will be the cheapest for young drivers...a used car that doesn't require collision insurance will also save big bucks
- not just the car factors your insurance, its also what area your living in the classification (pleasure or commute) your credit score. Also, if you just get liability it will be cheaper, and in order to have just liabilty you cannot have a lease or a loan on your car, YOU have to have the title and own it.
- I would suggest economy cars like a Honda Accord, Honda Civic, etc. After you get a few cars on your list, then go online & get quotes to see how the insurance is. You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than ½ after I did. - That is very wise of you to think about insurance costs before buying. Many people do not take that into account and then run into problems when buying their sports car or luxury vehicle. The link below explains that and gives free online quotes.
