  1. Is your dad REALLY the primary driver? If not, you're talking about committing fraud. I doubt they'd go after you like they would for someone staging an accident or something, but they could very easily deny you coverage if they think they've been lied to. Don't do it.
  2. You should try confused.com or comparethemarket.com they check through hundreds of insurance companies to get you the cheapest quotes
  3. I think insurance companies are wise to this practice ... is your dad really going to be the main driver, I think not? You will never earn a decent claims free experience unless you actually get your own cover, financially hard though that may be. You are on the right side of 20 to be going forward now so I suggest you really get your own cover now. Anyway, you are putting your dad at risk by having insurance as a policyholder with you being the one taking the risks!
  4. I'm 19 and my dad actually used to be the general manager at my insurance company so i lucked up, his friend actually owns the company... so I'm not really sure how that works.. I know that if the title is in your name depending on who you see at the license plate place they might give you hell because they gave me hell, but we left it that way.. my car is titled in my name and my dad is listed as a primary driver and i'm listed as an additional driver.. if you have had your license for 3 years and haven't had any accidents or tickets affecting your insurance then when the 3 year mark hits you won't have to worry about it any longer but if not then go through state farm.. i got through progressive either one would be great insurance companies just call and get quotes.. :)
  5. If the car is registered in your name then your dad cannot be the primary driver. The insurer will require the name of the registered owner. Incorrect information will invalidate the insurance. You're also under 24years old so your insurance will carry an excess. No 'no-claims bonus' will start until you reach 24yrs of age.
  6. There are so many car insurance company that offering cheaper car insurance. All you have to do is, go for an online quotation to collect different prices of car insurance companies. You can try to visit this cheap car insurance site http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com collect quotes from here and select the best company for you. Goodluck
  7. Try Endsleigh. I got a nice fully comp quote from them on a 2004 Corsa 1.4 sxi twinport aged 17 passed 1 month ago for just under £1400 as the main driver.
  8. Please, please, please just contact an insurance broker - they have a range of policies available and know what questions to ask to ensure you are correctly covered. Only a fool or an expert should buy insurance online.
  9. hastings direct, more than or elephant
  10. No, I'm sorry that's not allowed. If a parent insures their child's car in their own name to get a lower premium, then it's known as "fronting" and the policy would be invalid.
  11. I suspect you are on to a fiddle and if you come unstuck you wouild find that you have no insurance. Remember the insurance companies demand utmost good faith from applicants for insurance. Bite the bullet and work up yopur no claims bonus. You are bad news anyway until you are 25 and if you are not an experienced driver you wil have topay a large excess anyway
  12. No doubt the easiest way to get insurance quotes is on the web. Why would you waste your time on the phone calling around? the last time i needed quotes on insurance i used one of these comparison sites and it was great. this is the site i used and it was quick like less than 5 mins. The last thing I want to do is listen to elevator music while waiting for a salesman. Anyway I got good quotes and ended up saving money so I was happy. So shop around and compare quotes which is easy on the net. Good starting point is at this site. http://www.knowledged.info/go.php?link=insurance Good luck.
  13. WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO DO IS CALLED "INSURANCE FRAUD" AND YOU CAN BE FINED AS WELL AS GO TO JAIL. YOU NEED TO RECONSIDER WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
