Car Insurance??

Does anyone know of any car insurers who will insure me on a car that I do not own? Basically it will be a lease car through a car hire company and I am required to arrange my own insurance

  1. For insurance purposes, leasing is the same as owning. Handle accordingly.
  2. Any insurance company will supply this service.
  3. some insurers wont insure leased cars, even some of the biggest. start with confused.com or moneysupermarket both have access to many insurers. there is a question on do you own the car, you can answer yes, you are responsible for the car. Sometimes the leasing company asks for their interest to be noted on the policy
  4. Any insurance company allowed to operate and write policies in your state will be able to help you.
  5. I would contact an insurance broker to arrange this policy. If you try and buy online you might miss the question or statement of fact and thus unwittingly buy a useless policy. If in doubt trust the professionals.
  6. You can visit some sites on the net. Try to park on this cheap car insurance site http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com for your reference.
  7. No doubt the easiest way to get insurance quotes is on the web. Why would you waste your time on the phone calling around? the last time i needed quotes on insurance i used one of these comparison sites and it was great. this is the site i used and it was quick like less than 5 mins. The last thing I want to do is listen to elevator music while waiting for a salesman. Anyway I got good quotes and ended up saving money so I was happy. So shop around and compare quotes which is easy on the net. Good starting point is at this site. http://insurance.deal4-you.com Good luck.
  8. Get a quote in the usual way and when they ask if you're the registered OWNER of the car, tell them it's a leased vehicle. They'll endorse the policy accordingly at normal terms. No problem.
  9. norwich union - go to a broker and they will sort it for you
