Auto and Car Insurance

Car insurance?

Can you own a car and be covered legally in under your parents insurance? My wife and I purchased a car from her father and I want the title, but we are able to pay really cheap insurance through them...I don't want to lose that...can we have the title put in our name, but still have insurance through them?

  1. As long as your names are on the insurance.
  2. No, the car will have to be insured by its owner. Also if you have it and are going to keep it, they will have to inform the insurance company as to who is driving it and where it is being stored. You are paying cheaper because of thier age and driving record, once you are added to thier policies, all of thier car policies will increase also..
  3. Yes you can as long as it is alright with them. But to make it really easy why don't you just give them the monthly owed and they will pay it all in full. But your name must also be on there police.
  4. What a rip!
  5. yes i do that because i deploy it makes it easy for me to just take my name off the insurance but my car is still covered and my mom is able to drive it and keep it up, the car is only in my name. If you do not live in the same place as her parents then you cant you have to get your own
