Car Insurance.?

My dad doesnt want to put me on his insurance, even though i offered to pay and my mom is gonna buy me the car. Male, 16, the car is probably going to be a 2001, 2-door honda. What is an estimated amount am I going to have to pay if I get my own car insurance.

  1. i dont think you can even get insurance under you name until you're 18. for now you'll have to be put into your parents policy. BTW... its way cheaper if they do...
  2. I would have to say about $100.00 a month for liability insurance. I get discounts because I have my 3 children on our policy. The more I have on my insurance policy the better discounts we all get. Maybe your mom or dad can check into prices with their insurance agent. As long as you pay then there should not be any problem. Maybe he is just worried that if you get into an accident then his insurance would go up. If that is the case then tell him that you will pay the difference. I have a 17 year old son. Just got his license. He has a 2001 Chevy Cavalier. He pays $75.00 a month for insurance.
  3. ok well i work fo an insurance agency and im gonna tell you this....being 16 your going to be rated as a male under 21....about 200 for that, then on top of that you havent had your license for atleast 3 years your going to be charged an inexperience operator surcharge, about another 200 for that, then on top of that your buyin a 2 door 2001 vehicle which will cost you about another 5-600, then if u want full coverage on it will be about another 8--900 so your full term premium would cost you at most about 1900 for the year about 285 down and about 162 a month but different companies have different rates so im sure u can get it a little cheaper
