Auto and Car Insurance

do parking tickets make your insurance go up?

i just got one last night for $40. guess i didn't have a permit to park on that street during those hours. i have state farm auto insurance. i'll pay it right away, but will it raise my insurance rate? in case it matters, the ticket was received in los angeles california.

  1. Only moving violations make your insurance go up
  2. no they dont. at least not in canada. i have got many of them and it never changed a thing.
  3. Not the parking ticket itself but if you don't pay it that will show up on your credit rating and stuff on your credit rating will make insurance rates go up or down.
  4. It shouldn't. Insurance companies look for moving violations, i.e., speeding, reckless driving, accidents, drunk driving, etc...
  5. No it shouldn't, it's just one of those give me ur money tickets most the time but make sure u pay it on time. but then again it depends on where u live an the local laws
  6. No. I have State Farm also. I think only tickets that involve getting points on your license make your insurance go up.
  7. No, only moving violations raise your rates.
  8. Shouldn't. It didn't involve your operation of the vehicle (like with speeding, running lights, etc).
