Auto and Car Insurance

i switched auto insurance policies from Liberty Mutual to State Farm Insurance. i just stopped paying my?

Liberty Mutual Insurance after I was officially covered by State Farm. I just received a bill from Liberty Mutual charging me 70 dollars for the time between my last payment and their "official cancellation date" of my policy. is this fair that they are able to charge me for this? if i show proof i was covered during the period they are charging me for by someone else, do you think i can get out of this?

  1. You need to call your state farm agent and have them fax over the proof of INS to Liberty Mutal and they will back date the cancellation to the date that you started with state farm. But if you a partial month of ins with them you will be liable for a part of that month.
  2. Chad S is correct. You need to have State farm fax a declarations page to Liberty Mutual (or your Liberty Mutual agent) showing them the effective dates of your policy along with the policy number. Liberty Mutual will have to back date the cancellation to the date that you got coverage through State Farm.
  3. Yes, it's fair, because they didn't know you switched!! You CAN get out of it, but you'll have to have State Farm contact your old Liberty agent, and send them proof that the policy was replaced at the earlier date. LIberty will then have to reinstate, and recancel the policy as of the new date.
