Does Progressive really verify your GPA?

I applied for a job with Progressive Auto Insurance. On the application I put down a higher GPA than what I really have. Next to the spot where you type in your GPA, it says (will be verified). But I am wondering, do you that is true? Usually colleges don't just release information like that to companies. I mean if they find out my GPA is really lower than the one I told them it was, I'll probably get disqualified, but I wonder if they check at all? Anyone who has worked with the company know?
