How come Liberals and Democrats can not understand car insurance is not mandatory for everyone in the US?
It seems that liberals and Democrats do not understand a few things about car insurance. 1.You do not have to have it if you do not want it. You just can not own and register a car. 2.It is regulated by the states not the federal government. 3.You buy it to protect the people/property of other people you destroy with your car. (liability is the only required form of insurance you have to have) 4.Driving is considered a privilege not a right. So knowing all of those things how could someone equate it to a federal mandate to buy health insurance to be legal as the same thing?

- Same with health insurance. You may choose not to buy it. But when you are sick or injured, stay home. Do not go to the doctor or the hospital.
- i personally would think car ins would be more mandated because if you get into a wreck it can affect other people, not just you as opposed to forcing heath ins. on us where if you don't get it, you just screw yourself!
- It's obvious many of us know quite a bit more than you think(?) you do.
- Yes, you are correct. Car insurance is only mandatory for those who have cars. I don't think that you should be fined for not being able to afford health insurance.
- I agree but we ARE dealing with liberals here and history has shown there is a lack of common sense involved with liberal thinking.
- You're absolutely right! You can choose not to own a car. That's why not everyone needs to have car insurance. Only car owners do. But, you can't choose not to have a body, and your body requires good health. That's why everyone needs to have health insurance, because you can't exist without your health. And for people who try to make the argument that the only mandatory car insurance is liability insurance, used to protect others -- health insurance also protects others. Remember, if a person shows up at an emergency room, with a broken leg, the hospital has to treat them, even if they can't pay. But when they can't pay, the hospital spreads their costs across the people who can pay, in the form of higher prices. So, requiring people to have health insurance does protect others from having to absorb those costs.
- They think that driving is a right just like... healthcare a job a house a tv etc. See FDR's second bill of rights. He laid out socialism nicely.
- In some states when you have a substantial finance statement, you are not required to carry any insurance. Health is not their concern, it is another ply for government complete take over!
- I don't know, especially given that in Liberal Mecca Maryland, if you get in an accident with an illegal alien, they are very likely to not have car insurance.
- yes , you CAN choose not to buy it, But then you will be fined or you do the time
- Why don't republicans understand that anyone can get seriously injured or a major illness at any time? And that without decent insurance many cannot afford to pay for their treatment? That we pay for the most expensive ER treatments for things that could be covered at one tenth the cost in a doctors office? If you are very wealthy and could afford to drop a couple of hundred thousand dollars on health care then don't get insurance. The fine for not having it will be negligible to you anyway.
- They only pretend to be ignorant when they choose to be. The biggest difference you mentioned is - only LIABILITY insurance is mandatory, to protect others from your own accidents. Does Obamacare require medical LIABILITY insurance? As in, if you get sick, you have to have insurance to protect OTHERS from your sickness? The difference is taking responsibility for the harm you might cause to others, That is the purpose of mandatory auto liability insurance. But leftists can't understand personal responsibility. To them, insurance is insurance. Saying Obamacare is like mandatory car insurance is like saying one snowstorm proves there's no global warming. Or like blaming Bush for everything that happened while he was president, and blaming Bush for everything that happens while Obama is president, but the Democrats never blame Clinton for anything, including things that happened while he was president. It's funny how liberals suddeny sprout a brain and learn to think logically, when they're defending Obama or Clinton by taking out the microscope and searching out the "real killer," but when Bush is being blamed they just close their eyes and take out that broad brush... It's called selective logic.
- Liberals don't care about facts. They will say anything to get their way.
- 1. You are splitting hairs. Our modern society is based on its members using automobiles. Any person living in a major metropolitan or rural area will have a car. You can exist without a car, but in most cases, it is difficult. If you do own a car, you must purchase insurance 2. A government authority mandates the purchase of automobile insurance. Your point is??????? 3. You are required to purchase automobile insurance for the common good of society 4. True but irrelevant to the point you tried (albeit unsuccessfully) to make Drawing comparisons between the two seems appropriate based on my above responses to your arguments
- It is nothing to do with Liberals and Democrats and/or any kinds of labels. It is about two things and it applies to ANY place on earth, it isn't local to the USA: either people 1) Gain something out of not seeying logic (eg: mafia, corruptions etc) 2) they are brain dead people. I hope this dispels any current and future doubts about why some people might not "understand".
- your points are petty, but what can ya expect from a coward
