License was not in hand while driving an Unregistered vehicle with No Insurance and Fictitious Plates. Help?
Hello, I am a resident from NJ. I am 18 years old and got pulled over for having Fictitious Plates but at the same time I did not have my license on me. The car was not insured or registered. It's my first conviction and I have been given about 4 tickets which include Fictitious Plates, Unregistered Vehicle, No Insurance, and Failure to Exhibit D.L. I have court dates within 2 weeks. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect. Thanks.

- WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? OR WERE YOU? BETTER GET A LAWYER!!
- I expect that you're in BIG TROUBLE-NO MATTER WHAT YOUR AGE!
- Don't drop the soap in the shower.
- Expect to go to jail and never be allowed to drive again. You show no respect for the laws and do not deserve the PRIVILEGE of driving.
- You are in trouble. If the car is yours, get it registered, insured and properly plated. Make sure you have your license in order too. They may drop some of the charges if you get everything taken care of before your court date.
- even with a lawyer this will be an uphill battle. good luck!
- wow these people are harsh, and giving you no hope.... here is my best suggestion, if the car is yours, get it registered, insured, and figure out the plate situation. in KY, they are lenient on this if it gets brought to court if you get everything done before hand. as for the being unable to present drivers lisence, that shouldnt be an issue. i dunno about NJ, but in KY cops can run your social and your DL comes up which keeps that from being an issue here. but either way, you should just be able to present them with proof you have and had your drivers lisence at the time and that charge should get dropped (i got pulled over 2 years ago with my registration in my car and all i had to do was mail them a copy of it to prove i had it and the charge was dropped) i think that you might get a few fines, but i highly doubt you are going to jail. it's not quit the big deal these people are making it out to be. good luck with it though. also, here judges tend to only punish you with the most sever charge and dismiss the rest, so you might only get a sentance (when i say sentance i mean fine) for what the judge feels is the most sever fine. i hope all that makes sense! (if the car wasn;t yours, hopefully you didn't steal it... then you might be lookin at some jail time.....)
- well all these people are assholes. the end.
- Pack light !!!!! I understand that they might allow you to take a toothbrush. And Bardic is correct. Watch that bar of soap, and keep you back against the wall.. You're going to have a new appreciation of privacy when you get out. Maybe it will jar you into getting some brains.
