auto insurance..??
I'm trying to get just PL&PD, and the insurance websites are really hard for me to understand at the moment... I'm 19, just got my license, no experience on the road good or bad, good grades, and my car is a '96 Ford Taurus... about how much will my insurance be?? just a guess is what I want, and also if you have what company you got your estimate from, that would be really nice. Thanks :)

- Try progressive, geico, or esurance. They all do quotes online. You just have to know what kind of coverage you want.
- If you are just getting the state minimums than you can probably expect to pay between $50-$100. Remember that just Personal Liability and Property Damage will only cover injuries/damages to the OTHER party if you hit them and will not cover any of your injuries/damages if you are at fault. Medical Payments - cover your injuries (and the injuries of people in your vehicle) up to the limit (normally $1K-$5K) Collision - covers damage to your vehicle if you are determined to be at fault subject to a deductible that you pay with the insurance paying the rest. Comprehensive - covers damage to your vehicle if it is damaged by something OTHER than an auto accident such as deer hit, hail, flood, theft, etc. and is also subject to a deductible like Collision. You may want to price these additional options and consider them as state minimums PL&PD only cover the other party. Another thing to consider is that even if the other party is at-fault, it sometimes takes up to a month to determine who is at fault in which time you would not be able to get your vehicle repaired unless you have Collision coverage and if your vehicle is damaged beyond repair from a deer hit you would need to pay for the repairs/replacements out of your pocket. Purchasing insurance is a balancing act of how much you can monthly weighed against how much you can afford if you got in an accident and need to repair your car.
- If you are not understanding the websites, then look for a local insurance agent. Go to them and take out a policy. They can explain all the coverages so you have a better understanding of what you are actually buying. Good luck.
- Thew best thing to do is an online insurance quote. They give you the lowest prices, and you don'y need to pay any added brioker fees. Online quotes will compare all companies in your area and find the company that will offer you the lowest price. - Use anyone but USAA, they never pay claims accordingly.
