Car Insurance?

i bought a new car and it needs new insurance, in michigan there's a "no fault" wut does this mean? how can this b used and how does it work? how does the insurance cover this?

1. my sister is up there and she says if she hits a car her insurance covers it and if a car hits her her insurance cover her to. so basicaly you use your own insurance. And it doesn't matter how many accidents you get your insurance dont go up.
