ok heres my problem. i am 18 and i just finished a drivers ed program i want to get my license but i cant because in order to take the road test to get my full license (not a learners) i need a car on which i am insured but i cannot buy a car because in order to even buy a car you need to have some one in the house which you live in who has car insurance and no one in my family drives so they dont have insurance as you can see im in a cycle that i cant get out of... what do i do?

You may need to wait until you are 21 years old and considered an adult. Then you won't need anyone to depend on. You can buy a car and get your own insurance.
AS long as you do not have a vehicle titled in your name, you can check with insurance companies on pricing for what is called a "non-owners" policy. This is insurance for people in your situation who do not own a vehicle at all. Also, with most companies if you do get a vehicle you can switch a non-owners policy over to an owners policy once you get a vehicle. Hope this helps.

I am not sure what the rules are in your state but in most states being covered on the same policy as the car that you are using to take the test isn't the real issue but whether you are covered on an insurance policy. I would double check, ask them as long as you are covered on a policy of your own is it ok to borrow someone else's vehicle to take the test as long as the person that you are borrowing the car from has insurance on the car. If it is ok then you should be able to get what is usually referred to as a "Non-Owned Policy" (means you don't own a car but have a license and need to be covered by insurance).
