Auto and Car Insurance

Car Insurance?

I am a foreign student and I am about to drive a car!!!!! I am so excited, but there's a problem: Car insurance. I do not have any family in United States, so I have to get my own insurance. Thankfully, I am 18 years old, so it is possible. But however, I am going back to my home country in summer which means I don't need to drive. Is it possible to cancle the car insurance over the summer?

  1. All you have to do is cancel it before you leave and when you return you will have to apply again, you can't just cancel for the summer and pick it back up when you return. The only other option would be to pay for the months you are gone in advance or keep your payments current while you are gone
  2. If you're storing the car, I would suggest dropping your coverage to comp only. Comp would cover the vehicle in the event of a theft. Contact your agent and they can adjust your policy and let you know how much your premium would be.
  3. It is always a good idea to hold some good resources at firstplaec.here is one of them. http://insurance.online-assistant.info
  4. There are so many different ways to do this like what people said before you can get comp, or you can even just get insurance for 6 months. I have 2 cars (one winter and one summer) both just have 6months insurance on them when I drive them during the year so you don't "have to" have insurance all year round.
