  1. MA has such strict rules in auto insurance that most of the big carriers couldn't be bothered with them. Commerce is a MA insurance company. Or look in the phone book for an agent you like and go with their insurance.
  2. Good question..i just relocated from Texas and I had Geico. But i went to www.insurancedepot24.com and got a quote.
  3. Massachusetts must have strict laws and a high rate of auto accidents and/or auto theft causing many auto insurers to have poor loss experience in the state. That may be the reason they don't write auto insurance in your state. However, you can compare quotes online from insurers that do offer coverage in Massachusetts. I recommend InsureMe – They give you the five best auto insurance quotes from top-rated auto insurers nationwide. To request a free, no obligation quote, Go to http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=613596&Type=auto I hope that helps! Take care and best of luck with your auto insurance!
  4. Massachusetts insurance industry is very heavily regulated -- this is one of the issues in this year's gubernatorial campaign. While regulation is keeping competition from freely entering the market and rates are much higher than in other comparable metro areas, the good news is that among the companies who do underwrite in Massachusetts the rates vary very little. Companies must follow a pre-set rate schedule that is based in part on the driver's experience, number of incidents, and other factors. Insurers are only allowed to deviate a little bit from these rates. Good luck!
