What should I do? Auto Insurance shopping issue?

My auto insurace with Allstate is set to be cancelled December 11th if I dont pay the est. $553. I had planned on paying them 1/2 on November 29th and the other half on December 6th. I could also get a new policy from geico for approximately the same premium and for only $350 down. Can I switch companies now and if so how much $$$ would I still owe Allstate? I figure I can save $200 by switching Also can someone give me a good idea on how much I would owe Allstate if any. Balance (To Pay in Full): $ 1184.33 Minimum due by Dec 11th $534.34

2. MY INSURANCE PLAN ALLOWS ME TO PAY IN PAYMENTS. ITS NOT ONE FLAT FEE. ASK THEM IF THEY HAVE THAT. MONTHLY I GET IT DEDUCTED FROM MY CHECKING/SAVINGS ACCOUNTS.

5. The job of an agent is to SERVE you. That means answer ALL your questions. You cannot be penalized for asking questions. Regarding how much you will owe, ASK. It should be ZERO. Generally money that's due is due BEFORE the period it covers. Usually a cancellation will terminate your obligation on the day you cancel. An early cancellation MAY entitle you to a partial refund. ASK!!! It often pays to change companies once a year, unless you are earning credits like good driver credits or passing to middle age. The reason is that your vehicle is getting older and its value is lessening. The reasonable amount of coverage for damage to your vehicle is less. For the premium to go down would also be reasonable. Whenever you get a good quote from another company IN WRITING, you should ask your present company if they can beat that number. Maybe Allstate will do that.
