Allstate Auto insurance?
I tried to pay my mom's car insurance today and it said that the account was terminated. How do i get the policy reinstated?

- First find out why the account was terminated. Handle whatever problem caused it to be terminated, and reinstate it. You may need to make a trip to see the agent. In the mean time do NOT drive the car.
- Was the policy terminated for "Non Payment"? if it is then there are 2 things you can do. You can take cash down to your insurance broker (if you have one), and have them back date the cancellation date. Brokers don't get paid if their clients policy cancels, so they'll do it for you in a hurry. The second thing you can do is contact Allstate and ask them to reinstate your account (They'll normally charge you a lapse fee for each day your policy was cancelled) Most insurance companies charge about $8/day for lapse. Another reason your policy was cancelled may be for a missing documents in your policy, which may include (Proof of residency, Photo inspection, Proof of Unlisted Drivers..etc). What ever the reason is, you need to find out, and fax/mail them the required document ASAP. Hope that helps.
- well speaking as an Allstate Agent, her policy was probably terminated due to non payment...meaning her payment was late and the the time period she had to get the payment in had passed.. your mom has to re-open the policy all over again..meaning she will need to be requoted, she has to not only put the another down payment down but also pay whatever her previous balance was before the previous policy had terminated...dont wait to long because then she will have a lapse of coverage and she wont qualify for a previous insurance discount.. the only other reason her policy might have terminated is because she is missing certain documents that underwriting needed and because the documents had not been submitted they terminated the policy.
- If the policy was terminated your mom must reapply for insurance coverage.
- I would get your mom to find out why her insurance was terminated.
