Auto and Car Insurance

What is the best auto insurance carrier?

Hi everyone. I am shopping for car insurance and want to know the best but most affordable out there. My mother thought to put me on her policy with Progressive and I would pay her for the insurance, but they were going to charge her over $500.00 to do so. My friend has gotten into two accidents and hasn't had to pay nearly that much , and neither did her dad when he put her on his policy. So my question is, which is the best, most affordable insurance? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. :D

  1. Geico
  2. The one that charges the least. Unfortunatly they all use complicated formulas that are different so they all have different rates for different people. It's not like buying shampo. Each person has to do their own shopping. I use Esurance and save but maybe you won't.
  3. I have had State Farm since 1980. They are not the cheapest, but actually pay claims and have great customer service. I would call the bigger agencies like SF, Allstate, to get rates. They all quote different rates depending on the car, your age, amount driven, etc. Look at this web site for comparisons
  4. "Best" and "affordable" don't always go hand-in-hand. If you buy cheap auto insurance, you might find yourself getting very poor service and a lousy settlement if you have a claim. On the other hand, paying a high price for auto insurance does not always result in the opposite of that situation. For my money, I'd go with State Farm. Once you build an accident-free driving record, they will reward you with discounts. Also, State Farm is a mutual insurance company and it is possible to get a refund of some of your premium (dividend) if claim are low in your state during a given year. I've gotten several dividend checks over the years, reducing my net cost for insurance. A good State Farm agent will help you keep your costs down by only having you insured for those things that are essential. State Farm is the largest auto insurer in the country and is highly rated by all insurance rating agencies. Be sure to get "uninsured motorist" coverage in case you get hit by someone without insurance. Hope that helps.
  5. CHECK WITH THE BOARD OF INSURANCE WHICH IS ON LINE AND THIS WAY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE FIRST HAND ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES INCLUDING THEIR RATINGS AS WELL AS HOW THEY PAY AND TREAT CONSUMERS AND MAYBE BE ABLE TO ASSIST YOU.
