  1. how long have u been driving ??? it depends i WAS 18 and my first insurance for a 96 ford was 2500 per year but then it goes down if you dont have accidents .
  2. Call progressive, they are supposed to be able to check several different insurance companies and give you the best quote. It is also depends on where you live and your age and what your driving record looks like. 191.00 doesn't sound that bad for a Mustang, but you might be able to find something cheaper, but not much. Good luck.
  3. Typically, insurance rates will vary from State to State and can even vary by ZIPCODE! It also will depend on the type of car/truck, coverages, limits of liability, and driving record. SOme companies run credit scorees and MOST run a motor vehicel report and CLUE (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange) report to see about undisclosed accident involvement. The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Don't go across town, or to some other city - look for someone CLOSE. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems, and give you rate comparisons of several different companies. You're in luck - in Florida, they also have the Specialty Insurance Agents that specialize in younger drivrs and sportier cars! The insurance laws in FL just changed (Jan 1) and I don't know what that is going to do to your insurance rates....will be interesting to see. An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can. In my agency, we have several different companies that specialize in insuring the youthful operator. At any rate, it will probably be less expensive to be insured on your parents' policy since you are only 17. When will you turn 18? You can't sign a contract yourself until you turn 18 - and an insurance policy IS a contract between you and the insurance company! Most of the replies on this site say "go to this on-line carrier or that on-line carrier or that 1-800 number" but I'm sure that when you do, you will find some impersonal computer user with a script to work from and you won't be able to talk with the same person every time you have a problem! Good luck, drive RESPONSIBLY and I hope this helps
  4. That's pretty cheap already. now, for an ACCURATE quote, you also have to list your license number, social security number and date of birth, for a credit check, with your name, of course, and your address, and the vin number of the car, and exactly WHICH coverages you have, and the limit for each coverage. Obviously, you don't want to do that here. You need to talk to a local agent, to get REAL QUOTES. Just like underwear, there's no one size fits all best. Cheapest for me, might be most expensive for you. There's no shortcut, you HAVE to shop around.
