what is the cheapest auto insurance?

I am going to be turning 16 soon and i am most likely am getting a 2002 ford focus. what companies offer the cheapest auto insurance for a 16 yr old on there parents insurance?

1. I suggest getting a free quote from progressive online, because they usually give you other quotes to compare to theirs. It also depends on the car you are insuring, the sportier the car, and the newer it is, the more expensive the insurance. Good luck !
2. A couple of things to consider are that you can keep your cost down by not carrying any collision on a 5-year old car if it is paid for. If you "need" collision, take the highest deductible possible. Since you intend to be included on your parents' policy, it would be more economical for the auto to be owned by them and as a rule, have the same company that insures their home underwrite the auto policy.
3. Your Parent's policy will have the most discounts, Multi-car and Prior Insurance discounts. Some Companies don't want young drivers and their rates to add you and another car, will be unreasonable. But try your parents company first and then go shopping. Try Local Independent agents who represent several companies, some of whom may offer a better rate for younger drivers. You may find one that is less expensive then your parents company. Good Luck!!!
