Whats a good car I can get insured on at 18 years old?
I currently drive a ford fiesta 1.3lx (about 900 a year to insure with my dad as the main driver) but want to get something newer and more sporty. Whats a good sporty car I would be able to get reletivly cheap insurance for at 18? I can get insured on a honda civic 1.4s for about 1400 but I wanted something like a ford puma or a vauxhaull tigra but Tesco or direct line couldnt give me an online quote :@!!! Any suggestions? Can people please stop posting stupid answers!!! When I say cheap I mean roughly under 1500, and when I say sporty I mean something that looks sporty but doesnt have to have a big engine or anything. I got a quote for a mazda 323 for 1300

- 2CV
- dont buy a puma or tigra, unless you are hairdresser or airline steward/ess Sporty and cheap insurance do not go together. Stick what you have until you get some no claims points. If you want speed, but not sport then buy a 18.td fiesta van, 1.7td astra van. You loose 3 saets, but get a nippy practical car with much much cheaper insurance. You need to make sure that YOU are accrueing the no claims points as a primary driver though, otherwise it will never get cheaper for you.
- They would not give you a quote because young drivers are idiots. And they wonder why they have too pay a fortune to insure a car.
- Reliant robin. Only group 2 insurance... put some flames down the side.
- The Smart Roadster. I hope you are not refering to this car as stupid? The roadster is a sports car with a 700cc turbo engine.
- try something like a peugeot 106 or a citroen saxo - they;re relatively cheap to insure and run but if you get the right one it'll go like the clappers!
- a low engine size renault clio.
- How about a Chevrolet Cobalt?
- WV Golf II
- corsa, suzuki swift with body kit.at 18 you are limited, get something and get down to demon tweeks an do it up
- Try a golf 1.4 or a saxo 1.4/1.6 - they are canny quick.
- At 18 how about a go cart
- best bet is a punto sport cheap 2nd hand and cheap insurance
