Swinton Car Insurance ?? Any one used Swinton ?

I have always been insured with either Churchill or Direct Line. Been shopping around this time and Swinton have offered the best quote so far through Highway Insurance.,. Price includes Legal cover, High breakdown cover, courtesy Car ect,, Im just abit unsure what the service is like as I dont know anyone who uses them. Any one used them and what were your experiences? good or bad ? Many thanks in advance.

  1. Swinton are the largest high-street insurance broker in the Country (owned in part by MMA insurance). Like all intermediaries they are regulated by the FSA. Reputation wise - as good as any large organisation - you won't get a personal service if you buy online, but going through a local office might be better - so you can call in and speak to the staff if needed. Just read their status disclosure document so you won't be shocked with their administration/ cancellation fees should you need to alter the policy.
  2. They're a sizeable well known company. Shouldn't imagine you'll have any problems.
  3. hi i have been with swinton for over ten years and never had a problem with them as stated by another you can go and talk face to face if you need to.
  4. Hi, Swinton. I was insured with them many moons ago, and all seemed well until a twit drove into me. All hell broke loose, as Swinton pathetically tried to negotiate a settlement. They were hopeless, so all very well until a claim arrives on their doorstep, then silence. Do not trust the bu**ers is my advice What is insurance for, then. I asked, surely so that we have a claim sorted out after paying our premium. This was largely forgotten about. Avoid Swinton Hopeless Bob

  7. we been insured with swinton for years, recently had a bad car accident car wrote off, we were paid out for car within 2 weeks, injuries took alot longer, but got paid out, we wouldnt change.
  8. I used then a couple of years ago, very accommodating and very reasonable. However their rates shot up when renewal was due and they were not prepared to talk sense. They did not get my renewal. My searches following led me to the Post Office (online). Great deal, good price and 50 quid cash-back. I have renewed with them again as their figure was quite reasonable.
  9. i dont know about swinton but if your after a cheap quote try swiftcover.com.they only deal over the net but i found them cheapest by far
