insurance for 2 people on one car is p+s*i*g me off?
Zurich will not put my newly passed bird on my insurance. its a vectra group 10 ( i know its powerful) but as she is 23 and no driving experience they say no. I asked them if she could ring up direct line or someone and get her own insurance on my car and they said she cant as it's ilegal having 2 seperate policies on one car. So what can i do to insure her to drive my car. Bloody foreign call centres do my head in too. Useless 100%.

- could you buy a cheap run around car for her to drive to work etc and make her fully comp , get yourself fully comp too, that way in an "emergency" she can drive your car legally then . the police tried to close this loophole down 2 years ago but failed. only you can decide what an "emergency" is, so its impossible for the police to prosecute you really
- cancel ur insurance policy and go with another insure there loads online very cheap and will put ur g/f on it too try www.moneysupermarket .com then click insurance u will be suprised good luck
- yep go on line and seek from another insurance provider, the above internet sites are good, you can get quotes from each and then decide
- Why don't you ring up direct line yourself? I've got 2 cars and both myself and my husband are insured on both of them through direct line. Ok, so we aren't 23 and haven't just passed but if you're willing to pay to put her on your insurance then I'm sure they will do it. By the way, I never knew it was illegal to have 2 separate policies on one car, is that true?
- I would check out other insurance companies too, you may have the same problem with most, as your girlfiend is classed as a young driver and has less than a years experience. some companies will still allow this but with a very increased xs for her. i wouldn't use internet search engines as they do not ask relevant enough questions, you need to go through the phone book and call all the 0800 numbers, most insurance companies underwritten by RBS are based in england. And yes i'm afraid it is illegal to insure a vehicle you dont personally own so your girlfriend couldn't take out a seperate policy.
- dont do it a put ma daughter 23 yrs old on ma insurance she just passed her test ma pride and joy BMW 2 days later she wrote ma car off buy her a banger
- I had something similar when years ago I had a golf gti cabriolet and they would not allow me to add someone to my policy as they were a young driver. Its a real pain. It is illegal to have two policies on the same car. Not sure what the answer is with this one, it may mean getting another car for you to share or for her to get a little run around and start getting some no claims. The only other alternative is rining round all the companies, someone may take her with a higher excess?
- try direct line i have a a ford mondeo 2.0tddi and have my sister who's 24 on my insurance on a provisional licence and it put under 200 quid on for the year
- I would check out other insurance companies.
- Get her a cheap car, so she can build up her experience and try again in a year.
- Go to another insurance company.
