how many breakdown calls can i have per year?

im with direct line car insurance, is there a limit of breakdown call outs i can make, i've had to call out the service 4 times in about 4 months, ive been told, there is a limit of times you can call per year, i have a new battery in the boot, my car won't move, if they come out, would they install the new battery, and will they probably charge me for it, Thanks

  1. Batterys are easy to put in ask a someone to do it for you. and you can ask them when you call if it's going to cost?
  2. It is emergency breakdown cover, not "i don't want to pay a garage cover" You are meant to keep vehicle regularly serviced and maintained to a reasonable standard, if you'd been out shopping and came back to car to find screwed battery then fair enough but being at home with a new battery in the boot ready to fit doesn't go down well. If you call them they will take a dim view of having to come out to you to fit a battery that you've managed to go and buy. Call a couple of mates to find someone to fit it, simple job really. AA alows about 6 call out in the year
  3. your best bet is call the people who you got the cover with!the will able to tell you.
