How do vehicle insurance work?

My husband was involved in a collision, in which he is the victim, he was driving when suddendly someone rear ended our truck, he immediately lost conciouseness and doesn't remember anything else, but the other guy accepted responsability because he had a diabetic shock so he stiffened and press the gas peddle all the way there fore rear ended my husband and then crashed in to him on the right side after my husband had crashed with a post. my husband was taken to the hospital and our truck to the storage place, who should pay for the towe truck fees and the storage? My husband can't go to work and we are unable to pay our rent, because we both work together and that was our only source of transportation, we had also invested alot in the truck customizing it, should the other guys insurance pay for everything? or should our insurance pay?

  1. wow. thats nuts well then the car insurance should pay for all liability costs, and costs to fix the car... i think..
  2. The other guys insurance should pay everything. Also ask about a rental car.
  3. If it was his fault and had insurance then his will pay for your truck, medical bills, and probably lost wages while he recovers. At least that is the way it works in my state.
  4. Depends if you're in a "no-fault" state or not whos insurance pays.
