Can I get on to Ft. Leonard Wood without the registration to my vehicle being in my name?
I drive my mom's truck, but we are both on the insurance. The registration is solely in her name. We are getting it changed but there is a delay on her side with the bank that is financing it. Does the registration need to be in my name as well for me to get on post? Or is it enough that I am on the insurance and her name is on both? By the way she lives in California so I can't take her in to explain it to the gate personnel.

- no,, you need to be on the registration. i live on a military base.
- I would contact the post and see if a notarized letter from your mom would be enough to get you on post until the registration is changed.
- yes you can as long as your on the insurance card, we had a vehical that was registered to a friend, that we were buying from. we put our insurance on it and we were able to get DOD stickers for it. We did it at Ft.Sill
- I work on Fort Leonard Wood. When I first got here I drove my father's vehicle. You can get a temporary pass (usually 1-3 days) with the insurance card you spoke of and your ID, but you still need to show the registration. If you have further questions, call the Vehicle Registration section at the gate (596-3615) or the base operator (596-0131)
