Auto and Car Insurance

What kind of vehicle would have the cheapest insurance?

I need to buy a new car, and have pretty high insurance. I was wondering what types of vehicles would have the cheapest insurance for a newer car (2000+)

  1. I do know one thing for sure, RED cars have higher premiums
  2. If it has 2 doors, especially if it also has a V-8 engine, it will be more. If it fits the profile of cars that get stolen a lot, it will be higher also.
  3. Well, you don't NEED to buy a new car. The cheapest insurance is going to be minimum liability on a paid for, $1,000 clunker. If you buy ANY car with cash, and no loan, and can skip the collision and comprehensive coverage, that's cheapest. After a car is 4 years old, you see the biggest decrease in collision and comp rates, if you still want to carry those coverages. Dodge Caravans are pretty cheap to insure, in general, as are the low end Saturns (SL, or Ion). Volvos are, also, but they're pricier to start with.
  4. A smart car. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_(automobile) http://www.smart.com/-snm-0135035552-1193995208-0000009587-0000000000-1195377520-enm-is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/smart-content-Site/-/-/-/Default-Start Cheap to run and cheap insurance.
  5. CHECK WITH THE BOARD OF INSURANCE WHICH IS ON LINE AND THIS WAY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE FIRST HAND ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES INCLUDING THEIR RATINGS AS WELL AS HOW THEY PAY AND TREAT CONSUMERS AND MAYBE BE ABLE TO ASSIST YOU.
  6. Cheap is relative. Pay cash for a 4 cylinder sedan that is not on the "most stolen" list, and then carry max limits liability coverage and no comp or collision. The reason for the max limit liability is this: if you are going to pay for insurance, why not have some insurance? A low limit policy places your entire financial future in jeopardy. How much would a difference of $10/mo be worth to you if you were to be sued for $500k, and only had the minimum required limits? Think of it as Biggie Size, if you want. Think that it couldn't possibly happen to you? Thats the same thing that everyone getting sued this month thought last month.
