do i have to tell my insurer i have passed my driving test?

im 18 and i recently passed my driving test on 18/12/07 and was just wondering if i have to tell my car insurance company that i have gone from driving on a provisional to a full uk licence before my next renewel in august? also does passing my test mean my insurance will go up? im with tesco car insurance by the way.

1. Of course you should inform your insurer that you have passed your driving test. If you were unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident between now and your renewal date in August your insurance company would not pay out because you haven't provided them will your full personal details (insurance companies will use any excuse to get out of paying for a claim). And once you have passed your test your insurance will start to go down (because you build up a no claims bonus if you remain accident-free). So definitely inform your insurers that you have passed your test and well done.
