Do anyone know where i can get cheaper car insurance?

Im with Tesco and am due to renew my insurance next month but what im paying at the moment is sky high. Ive been on the road 2 years now, I have a reno clio.

1. Progressive is known for giving its rates and the rates of its competitors when you call for a quote, so I would start with them. I have a good rate with Geico, but the coverage is less than with other ones (it's third party only). USAA is supposed to have the best rates for the coverage, but you have to be a veteran or family of a veteran to be able to get it. If you're a student, ask for a student discount (it might be dependent on your GPA, but it's usually something reasonable like a 3.0).
2. The cheapest is Wawanessa, but you only get one shot with them. If you had a wreck, or get into one, they'll pay but you're out.

4. I was with Tesco for 4 years. Had a shop around and found Prudential cheaper. Yet then I found The Post Office cheaper still... and they had a special offer on where they would send you £50 in postal orders to spend on what you want if you take a policy with them. That offer was only running for a short time. I'll try find the link. (not received my postal orders as yet) Update: rofl, bty above advised the same. Try getting a quote with Post Office on this link: http://www.postoffice.co.uk and hopefully it will be a cheaper value quote + £50 postal orders back. Oh and they gave me NCD Protection for like just £25 extra... whereas Tesco and loads of other places have always quoted me around £100+ for that added security.
5. Try moneysupermarket.com, they have saved me pounds.
6. Many factors affect your insurance premium such as your age, type of car and where you live - this kind of stuff is obvious but it can go a bit deeper. For instance you could be 50 years old, drive a 1 litre Fiesta and only use it on a wednesday however if there have been a spate of theft/accident/damage claims on Fiestas in your area, the premium will rise. There are certain things you can do to help bring the premium for example most insurers will ask if you have access to a second vehicle. If this is the case (even if it's your mate's car and you only use it once) then say yes as from the insurer's point of view, the less time you spend driving your own car will lower the chance of you making a claim with them. Using this tactic is entirely legal, ethical and will not invalidate your insurance in any way. For a quote, try www.confused.com - they'll apply to about 15 different insurers to get a quote and for most people they save a bit of cash. Good luck!

11. Don't go for the woman only insurance companies.....it's just a sly marketing trick that works out no cheaper, if not more expensive! Confused.com or moneysupermarket.co.uk are the best.
12. I found Marks and Spencers were cheap for my fiesta, and Churchill ( through the Nationwide building society ) are cheapest for my Vectra. Quotes are free, both have websites.
13. ho hunni, ive just got car insurance (my first) with Diamond. theyre much cheaper than anywhere else!!!if you put your parents or people older than you on it will lower the price!! mine is £830 ish pounds a year with them , but im not sure whether you'd consider that cheap, cos im a learner!good luck, hope this helps xx
14. elephant.co.uk - been with them every year since they first around - no one comes close to their quote.. my tip is to get a quote online from them but use another name, then call them after and when they say have you had any other quotes from anyone else, say you have and reduce about 50-100 quid off the quote you just got online, i bet they say they will match it and hey presto you quids in...

17. Try Esure.com, I saved £300 on my exsisting policy!!! I was with the CO-OP but they were too exspensive, But you are right there are many factors to consider, age location etc etc... Good luck, shop around first.
