who do auto insurance companies answer to? Auto insurance is a state requirement, but if an Auto insurance company makes a mistake of some sort who are they responsible to? everyone answers to someone... back in May we dropped one insurance and went to another one... we had 2 cars one on each policy.. and it just made sense to switch... the company we were dropping would not drop us until we faxed them the new insurance policy card and we did .. what we never noticed was the date on the new card was WRONG.. Now we have to pay for a lapse of 44 days because of their mis print...I think THEY should "pay" for thier computer glitch!

1. If a mistake is made it is that insurance company to make the am mends Insurance companies are not regulated by the Government.... yet
2. There is a state board who over see's the insurance companies. If one makes too many errors, they are not allowed to sell insurance in the state.
3. you can forget it, go to small claims court, or write to the depastment of insurance
