anyone out there have progressive car insurance and been in an accident where it was your fault? I have progressive insurance and recently got into an accident. It was my fault, thankfully everyone was okay. Anyway I was wondering how anyone's claim process went. The progressive agent handeling my claim is nice and she called me the day i filed the claim, she asked me where I was going to get my car fixed and I told her. She said that the place I was getting it fixed was on their list of reapir shops and called them on three way to set up an appointment. What I want to know is , will they write a check to me or the repair shop? How did it work with you?
What do you think about Progressive Direct car insurance? I am purchasing a new car and for the first time car insurance. I've been shopping around online and Progressive Direct has the best rates for me. I also looked at getting Progressive through an insurance group in my area, which would cost $30 more per month for the same amount of coverage. Would it be worth the extra $30 per month to get the insurance through an insurance agency in my area? Have you had any good or bad experiences with Progressive Direct car insurance?

Does anyone have either Geico or Progressive car insurance.? Or any of the smaller national companies? I need to change from State Farm. They are charging me an arm and a leg after 10+ yrs as a customer, and a good driving record. But the past year I have been 'dinged' several times. Car insurance: Progressive vs. State Farm? I'm currently with Progressive and have been very pleased with their service: I was in an accident in August and the entire process was very smooth and took little effort on my part. I worked with one local agent, dropped my car off at the Progressive repair center where they had my rental waiting for me, and returned the rental there when I came to pick my car up. Plus I never have to wait long to talk to someone when I call. However, I'm newly married and have found we would save a considerable amount by moving my two cars to my husbands policy with State Farm as opposed to moving his car to my policy with Progressive. Please let me know what type of experiences you've had with State Farm and if you would consider their service as excellent as I have with Progressive. Even if State Farm is cheaper, it won't be worth the savings if their service is crummy. Thanks! I forgot to mention that State Farm did ask me about the accident and it was included in the price they quoted us. We had to make a choice by March 1st and considering the service and corespondence we received from each company during our time of consideration, Progressive was the hands down winner. It took State Farm almost three weeks to get a quote for us and every time we got ANY info from them, it was because we made the call. They first said they had to ask me about my accident in August, but no one ever called to ask, so I called and the lady said they'd be back to me by the end of the day. Three phone calls from us and week later, they finally gave us something. With Progressive, I worked with the same girl, and she even made appointments to call me at 7pm two days in a row and kept them. The one day she was out sick and even had a coworker call at our appointed time to let me know that she was out that day. I really think Progressive values our business more.

Is it possible for a UK resident to get car insurance in the US? I am planning to travel to the US for 2 months and was hoping to buy a car in California and drive it to New York. I have been trying to find out if will be possible to get insurance since I am not a resident of the US and it is looking increasingly difficult. I contacted Progressive Insurance company in the US and they said that I would have to have an address plus they would be unable to write a policy as the laws change between states and I would be travelling between states. if you stop paying your car insurance, the company cancels it, right? i talked to the agent beforehand and asked if i stopped paying, what will happen to the insurance. and he said the insurance policy will be canceled automatically. i have a 6 months policy with progressive insurance, but i stopped paying it after 4 months. and then today the the collection called and said i owe money to progressive insurance and he also said once i pay for it, the coverage will continue. but my question is, should i pay for it? i sold the car thats why i stopped paying it knowing that it will be automatically cancelled.
Inaccurate car insurance quotewith progressive, my rights? ok so i am with prgressive have been since may16th 2006, i recently added my paner to my insurance, i received a quote over the phone, an additional 89 dollars a month they would take from my account, in addition to my premium ($110) which adds up to $199. My first bill came in the post charging me $243, i called them asking what is the problem they said they don't know, thats what it came up at when they put it in the system, theres nothing they knew that they could do to rectify the problem. Now im just asking what my rights are can i cancel my policy even though my patner is added now for 12 months, especially as this was not the charge that i agreed with. I started requesting an online CAR INSURANCE quote from PROGRESSIVE.COM....but? They want to collect personal information from consumer reporting agencies, such as driving record, claims, and credit history reports. Is it safe for me to fill out the online form and give Progressive.com (Progressive Direct) the OK it needs in order to collect this information to give me a quote, or is this a possible Phishing expedition that I might regret later on? Thanks My credit history is excellent, as is my driving record clean of any tickets or accidents. Will it hurt me that the person who hit my car has the same insurance company as me? I got into a car accident on Wednesday, making my Thanksgiving horrible. I was rear ended on 95, forcing me into the back of another car. I found out that the person who hit me also has Progressive insurance. Is this going to screw me? Why on Earth would anyone buy Progressive Insurance? I had Progressive Insurance on my vehicle for one week, and had an accident. They looked for any and all excuses to get out of paying the claim. They finally succeded, and I had to pay off a totaled car. The Customer Service Supervisor actually told me that I was stupid for buying insurance over the phone. Car Insurance? I have a question, I was at the store the other day and came out to discover that a shopping cart had hit my car, It was a HUGE dent in the door, I asked the store manager and they said they weren't responsible for it, and that it was at my own risk parking my car in a public parking lot, So i called my Insurance Agency (progressive) and told them the incident and i wanted to get it fixed, They told me i didn't have collision Insurance and that it wasn't covered. Can you re-open a car insurance claim after a year? I got into an accident last October and the fault was 50/50 so my insurance agency (Progressive) said that I would only have to pay half of my deductible in order to get the car fixed. At the time I was unable to pay for it and told my claims agent that it would have to wait until December and she said that would be fine and to call her back and I could get it done. Well December came and went and I forgot completely and now its February and I (again) can't pay for it to be done right now. Step by step instructions on buying a new car and insurance and getting it home? HELP? I'm buying a new car very soon with the money i've been saving since birth! (im 21, the car is 15k chevy cobalt, but im going to try to haggle the dealership for a few thousand off by walking in with cash). Lowest possible car insurance? I am going on a trip out of the country for 4 months, and my car will be parked in my parent's driveway with a cover over it the entire time. How can I find the LOWEST possible car insurance for these months? I called Progressive and the guy was a total salesman with me, saying, "Oh you need vandalism insurance, oh and you can't have vandalism insurance without collision insurance," so before I knew it, my quote was up to $120 a month.
